There is a similarity to BJJ and Judo gi’s, they are both made from a weaved fabric that is designed not to tear when pulled and manipulated. Judo gi’s are made from a thicker weave that is designed to be more withstanding, where are Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gi’s are more tailored to make it more difficult to grip.
