Grappling Industries arrives to the UK on 12-13th Janurary 2019 and will be held at the Kensington Leisure Centre, London. While no prices have been announced yet, we imagine them to be keeping in line with their already reasonable prices we’ve seen in their American, Canadian and Australian tournaments.
“I wish I could explain to you how it feels to get to expand to the UK but I can’t.” Said founder and owner of Grappling Industries, David Aguzzi. “I am beyond excited to be able to have and afford this opportunity. This is not a small investment nor a short term play for the team at Grappling Industries to expand into the UK. Grappling Industries believes wholeheartedly this is the time to properly expand to the UK while being able to evolve and invest over time with the communities there. We love Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and can not wait to finally deliver our platform in January.”
Grappling Industries recently celebrated their 7th year of being in business and it looks like things are just starting to heat up! They have had praise across the United States for how well the competition’s are ran and also their unique ruleset. Recently they announced that they would allow male competitors to wear rash guards, a step forward in regards to maintaining high levels of hygiene.
Below is the current ruleset for Grappling Industries, if you’re not already familiar with it.
As you can see, knee reaping, toe holds, knee bars and slicer techniques are all legal at blue belt and above making this the perfect platform for the resurgence of the leg lock game made popular by recent movement. Grappling Industries are also known for their super-fights closing out their competitions. While no announcement has been made yet, we’re hoping for something special to celebrate their inaugural UK tournament.
