Cage Warriors 116 – Charrière vs Coga Announced

Cage Warriors are back. President Graham Boylan tweeted back in June that the promotion planned 3 back to back fight cards, dubbed #TheTrilogy. Today the promotion has presented with the first title fight of the three cards. French fan favourite Morgan Charrière  (15-7) will take on PFL veteran Max Coga (22-6) for the vacant featherweight title. The title was subsequently relinquished by Bellator’s newest signing, Mads Burnell.

The French fighter has quickly risen to notoriety under the Cage Warriors banner.  Exciting fans with wins over Lewis Monarch and Cage Warriors Knockout of the Year 2019 against UK veteran Dean Trueman. Max Coga comes into this with a wealth of experience, having fought on US promotion PFL. He is marching into this fight riding a two fight win streak (2 submissions).

Coga boasts a 86% finishing rate, and from 22 wins, that is impressive. Charrière is not far behind him, with a finish rate of 74%.

This is a huge opportunity for both men. It’s widely known that a Cage Warriors strap is a golden belt and a golden ticket to the UFC. With 96 fighters already taken to the big show from Cage Warriors, its hard to argue with them.

Cage Warriors confirmed that “THE TRILOGY” will take place behind-closed-doors in Manchester, being broadcast worldwide on UFC Fight Pass and a host of broadcast partners across the world.
