Sponsor Spotlight – Deus Fight Co.

Over the next few weeks we will be shining the spotlight on some of the companies that sponsor attack the back, either through advertisement or through their continued support of the blog.

Our first spotlight shines on Deus Fight Co, a relatively new fightwear company, who have burst onto the scene with massive support due to their incredible charity work with the Terere Kids Project and backing from Dave and Jake from Budo Videos. Here is their story.

Who are the people behind Deus Fight?

Myself, my wife Theresa, and Cedric Chamouille the black belt on the team are behind Deus Fight.

When did you form?

We started the company with a vision back in 2013, but it took us about 8 months to get things off the ground. Besides getting the quality of the products right, it was also important for us to tie in the Christian message and make sure we had chosen the right charities and projects to support out the gate.

We were blessed to be friends with the Budo boys, they were headed to Brazil later in the year and there was some work we really wanted to engage in down there. They were instrumental in connecting us with Terere’s team.

Why did you decide to form Deus Fight?

For a long time I had envisioned starting a brand with a cause and message. My kids had been doing Jiu Jitsu for about 5 years and one day Cedric told me to get on the mat myself.

At the point it all came together. I asked Cedric if we would do some work off the mat with me, and that’s how it all started. BJJ and martial arts in general have a solid foundation built on respect, hard work, integrity, etc… and we found that a lot of the people we were training with and knew were Christians, so it was a natural fit.

Now the brand has become a platform for us to deliver a message and do much needed for cause work. Theresa has expanded the line into Yoga and Activewear, as well. So it is definitely growing.

You do a lot of charity work, can you talk to us about your latest projects?

We have met the most amazing people during our journey and we continue to be blessed with opportunities to work with some truly awesome causes. We have a long standing relationship with the Terere Kids Project and Caio Terra’s Lions of Juda in Brazil, so we support them. We are also partnering with Elena at Jamin BJJ on a Gi-Exchange program.

We just did a tap cancer out event and are doing a couple of events with Susan G. Komen (breast cancer) in the next few weeks. And we just recently agreed to do something with the Mighty Oaks Warrior Foundation, they do incredible work with veterans of the armed forces who are injured and/or struggling as a result of combat experiences. They have a good Christian foundation and use Jiu Jitsu among other things as part of their program.

What are your goals for the next few years?

We want to carry our Christian message and build a sustainable brand with great products that can support our for cause work ambitions. They are quite audacious as we are doing all kinds of things now like anti-bully seminars for local churches and women self defence seminars for sororities at colleges. Ideally we will engage in a lot of partnerships and inspire others to do their part, too. There is just so much to do and there’s no way for us to do it alone. We have Faith. đŸ™‚

Any shoutouts?

Dave and Jake at Budo for believing in our cause at the beginning, Nico our good friend at the Terere Kids Project, Elena Stowell from the Carly Stowell Foundation and Jamin BJJ for continuing to inspire us and connecting us with so many good people, and Kris Shaw at BJJ Legends who is just amazing.
